Hi again...as usual I have had a hard time commiting to a design...big shock for anyone who knows me...not! I originally planned to do a modern square in a square type quilt, but alas, I have changed my mind. I have decided to do a lattice quilt. I found this one to use as my inspiration at www.filminthefridge.com . Let me just say that this lady is awesome! I love her quilts and she is such and insperation.

Instead of the white squares I am going to use grey patterned fabric. For the sashing, I am going to strip piece blocks of greens, aquas, navy, and greys together. I think it will be really beautiful and use some of my favorite colors.
I went to my local fabric store, V&S about a week ago and picked up some grey fabrics. I like them, but some of them were reading a little too traditional instead of the more contemporary feel I am wanting for this quilt. So, today my daughter and I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up a few more grey fabrics as well as some accent fabrics to use in the sashing and for pillows. I am still planning to use the extra grey fabrics in the sashing and I might even try to use them in a few pillows in a more modern way...we will see how it goes.
Even after my trip to Hobby Lobby I was missing a few patterns I would have liked such as a polka dot and stripe in the grey. So, I ran over to the Goodwill and scored a few cotton button down shirts to use in the quilt as well. I think overall I am going to have a gorgeous quilt and can't wait to get started.
In the next few days I will try to scan my fabrics so that you can see them and also include some of my planning and thought process behind my quilt and room design.
So, that is my fabulous day. See you around!
