I am looking for ways to make my builder basic bathroom modern country. I am planning a patchwork/applique shower curtain and now I am on to other ideas. I thought this driftwood mirror from West Elm was a nice rustic touch without looking too kitchy.
I have two round frameless mirrors like this one:
I think I got them at Lowes for not too much. So I am thinking that they could be made to look like the driftwood mirror. I will be looking around for some driftwood online and see what I find. Another thought I had was using wood discs on the edges, some thing like this Acacia Wood Framed Mirror, $559.95 from www.classymirrors.com
Walmart sells the little wood discs in the craft dept. The bags are pretty small and cost $3, but if you did a smaller border then maybe it wouldn't cost too much to diy. Certainly cheaper than $560.
I also really enjoy this mirror from www.hudsongoods.com ,$349. It is made from recycled wood from boats. Too cool!
I am thinking it would be fairly simple to make something like this. I actually think this technique would be really cool as a kitchen backsplash, but that's another post.
So, hopefully this will give everyone a few diy ideas to enhance your builder basic bathrooms...now I just have to decide which method to try....decisions, decisions!
Happy Tuesday and Happy Crafting!
