So there has been a change of plans since my last post which was like forever ago :) I am still planning to make my quilt...I even started on it, but realistically, it may/will probably take me a few months to get it done or longer and I wanted instant gratification...so, I went on ebay and got this quilt for $60 shipped...I should get it in the mail on Friday. It is exactly what I was looking for and will be good until I get mine done.
I am also going to give my curtains an update to go better with the grey and make them nicer...they are just khaki tabtop curtains and so boring...I think I will add pizzaz by either painting on stripes or adding stripes of fabric that I plan to use in my quilt...that is the way I am leaning b/c then I can add some color and pattern to them as well. I plan to make the stripes using different fabrics so that the pattern won't be super matchy matchy...hope it turns out okay...my last project wasn't so fab, more on that another time :)
So, that is my update and I will hopefully make some good progress on my upstairs rooms soon!

Bedroom Fabrics
All right I finally came through with the fabrics for my soon to be quilt. This first photo is all the grey fabrics that I am using for the main quilt blocks. The top polka dot is actually a men's shirt that I am using. The more I look at it I'm not sure about the Amy Butler fabric that has the blue flowers. I am not sure about the blue...does it take away from the others? That fabric may have to move to the accent stack, but we will see what I find.
These are the green, navy, and aqua fabrics that will make up the sashing between the grey blocks. The fabrics on left are cotton shirts I got from goodwill to use in this quilt and maybe a few others. Some of the grey block fabric will be used in the sashing as well.
These last two fabrics are probably my favorites. The grey paisley I would love to use as quilt blocks but unfortunately, it is made of broadcloth, a kind of duckcloth textured fabric...heavier used more for upholstery and curtains, or in this case pillows. The second animal print fabric is another favorite. I love the "greige" color with the aqua and who doesn't love a little animal print?!? This may become pillow cases or accents on other pillows, or who knows what.
I also have 3 more grey, black, and white fabrics that I forgot to scan. They are the original fabrics that I thought were a little too traditional. I may end up using them in the quilt somewhere or in pillows. Either way, I am really happy with my selections and can just see the room coming together.
Now I just have to get started! :)
